Privacy Policy

What we collect and why
Table bookings
Your name, email, phone number, party size, date and time, and any requests you share (such as accessibility needs or allergies). We use this to manage your booking, contact you about it and send confirmations. Our lawful basis is to take steps at your request to provide our service (contract).
Collection orders
Your name, email, phone number, the food you order and your collection time, so we can prepare your order and contact you about it (contract). Payment is taken in the restaurant when you collect.
Deposits
Where a deposit is required, payment is handled securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe’s privacy policy is at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
Enquiries
When you contact us about private dining, Christmas parties or anything else, we use the details you give us to reply (legitimate interests).
Website statistics
We measure how our website is used — which pages are visited, which buttons are clicked and where bookings and orders drop off — so we can improve it. We do this without cookies and without storing anything on your device. Visits are grouped using a code created from your IP address and browser type combined with a secret value that changes every day; your IP address itself is never stored, and visits cannot be linked from one day to the next. We record your approximate country, device type and browser. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.
Your order basket
While you build a collection order, the items are kept in your browser’s local storage so they aren’t lost if you refresh the page. If you tick “remember my details”, your name, email and phone are stored in your browser only, to save you typing them next time. You can clear these at any time from your browser settings.
Who we share it with
We use carefully chosen providers to run this website: Cloudflare (hosting and database, stored in Western Europe), our email provider (to send confirmations) and Stripe (deposits). They process data only on our instructions. We never sell your information or use it for marketing without your consent.
Orders placed through Deliveroo or Just Eat are handled under their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
Booking and order records are kept for up to 3 years for our accounts and to help us look after returning guests, then deleted. Enquiries are kept for up to 2 years. Website statistics are kept for up to 13 months.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing bookings@royalthaiaberdeen.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Google Maps
Our contact page only loads the Google Maps map if you choose to show it. Google’s privacy policy then applies to that map.
